Welcome to NYLF Medicine Reviews! This site was created to help provide potential National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Medicine attendees with firsthand accounts from students and parents of students who have attended these programs. Whether you received an invitation in the mail or heard about it from a friend or teacher, we hope to supply you with the information you need to make the most informed decision possible.
What is NYLF Medicine?
NYLF Medicine is a summer program for high school students who are interested in exploring careers in medicine and health care.
During the program, attendees take on the roles of physicians and gain medical school and career knowledge. Attendees participate in a variety of simulations, including a Wilderness Medicine simulation created in collaboration with doctors from Stanford Medicine and a triage simulation designed in collaboration with Mary desVignes-Kendrick, M.D., M.P.H., Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health.
Attendees have the option of attending the program at one of nine locations across the country. The program is held at several top universities, including Rice University, Emory University, Tufts University, Washington University in St. Louis, and UCLA.
